Relating Through Humour in Difficult Times: Annual Gathering
In times like these, it can sometimes feel as if outrage is the loudest voice in the room. We’re pulled into urgency, intensity and seriousness and, while those responses absolutely have their place, we might wonder: have we forgotten the power of humour? The power of laughter?
At this year’s annual Gathering, Frans Meulmeester invites us to pause and explore a different kind of resource one that’s deeply human, surprisingly powerful and often underestimated in therapy, coaching and any helping or supporting profession.
When is humour helpful and when does it miss the mark?
What is my own range of humour?
Do I use it to connect, to deflect, to soften, to invite?
When can humour genuinely support growth, healing, and reflection?
We’ll explore how humour can be an antidote to shame, how laughing at ourselves can create space and self-compassion and how shared laughter can become an act of acceptance even in difficult conversations. In a world that often feels heavy, humour isn’t about avoiding reality.
It can be a way of relating more honestly and more humanly within it.
Join Frans Meulmeester and the Relational Change community for an engaging and thoughtful exploration of how humour used wisely, can deepen connection, open perspective and bring lightness.
