The Spaces Between Us: A Systems Approach to Trauma and the Body

The Spaces Between Us: A Systems Approach to Trauma and the Body

A Two Day Workshop With Master Practitioners Miriam Taylor and Ed Fellows

Trauma radically alters our relationships - with the world around us, with others, with ourselves and with our bodies. In this workshop, Miriam and Ed will share some cutting edge thinking, contextualising trauma in the network of relationships that shape our lives. Each will demonstrate ways of working in deeply attuned, embodied and non-pathologising ways, and you will have an opportunity to put some skills into practice in small groups. The work will build on the neuroscience of trauma and consider the implications for therapeutic interventions.
Miriam and Ed are both established trainers on the Relational Change course in Contemporary Trauma Practice.

Certificate/Diploma in Contemporary Trauma Practice 2026: Mind, Body and Relationship:– Developing Competence in Applying Neuroscience to Therapy

Seven Modules: Starting 16 January 2026, Oxford, UK. and Online

The 8th cohort of this popular Certificate/Diploma programme starts on 16 January 2026, both online and in person at The Friends Meeting House in Oxford. The programme consists of seven, two & three day workshops (120 hours total), with the aim of building participants confidence, skills and understanding in working with trauma, especially complex trauma.

Grounded in a relational perspective, the programme will offer a safe, non-pathologising and accessible approach to working with trauma. It will offer a combination of relational, embodied and experiential perspectives on trauma, including pragmatic ideas on psycho-education and experimental interventions. The course will be creative and rigorous and have an emphasis on practice. It will be underpinned with input on, and discussion of, neuroscience, trauma theory, embodiment and developing resilience as a practitioner.
This programme is suitable for counsellors, psychotherapists and other mental health practitioners. Certificate and Diploma options are available.

The workshops are led by Miriam Taylor assisted by Nick Adlington,  with guest trainers Martin Capps, Ed Fellows, Sonja Hookway and Margaret Landale.

The Well Grounded Therapist: More Movement and Stillness at the Edge

The Well Grounded Therapist: More Movement and Stillness at the Edge

A 3 day residential on Lindisfarne with Miriam Taylor and Vienna Duff

This 5th Well Grounded Therapist residential with Miriam Taylor and Vienna Duff offers an alternative focus to those who work with challenging aspects of the field, in psychotherapy & across a range of helping professions. We will develop relational ground and explore the edges of contact by inviting you to attend to your own ground and to experience relationship with different elements of the island. Expanding our focus can support and replenish our capacity to stay open to potentially dysregulating figures.

In this, sometimes wild & sometimes tranquil place, we will weave inner and outer processes to sharpen awareness, to deepen, nourish and restore connections with ourselves, with others and the environment of this island. The workshop will be created through a mix of story-telling, ritual, stillness and movement, with time and space for process & reflection.

Spending time in a variety of outdoor and internal spaces, we invite you to:
• Be welcomed into a caring and inspiring environment
• Be part of a nourishing and containing group
• Explore listening to your ‘self’ and ‘others’ in stillness and flow
• Experiment with your edges and what supports your ground
• Receive support from two experienced facilitators
