A Relational Approach

Evidence from a range of areas, including healthcare, education and economics, shows the benefits of attending to relationships. The lives of individuals, families, teams, communities and organisations are all positively impacted (e.g. Spretnak 2011, Hosking and McNamee 2006, Painter-Moorland 2006).

We believe that the issues the world faces are best served by a new global vision of interdependence; welcoming difference, exploring values and supporting shared decision-making. We call this combination a RELATIONAL approach, and believe this supports building a better and sustainable future.

What Does ‘Relational’ Mean?

Relational for us means finding an optimal balance between three interrelated elements:

  1. Self

  2. Other

  3. Situation

or overall context/culture in which we are all embedded.

Relational self and others

We develop skills in assessing and working with each domain in a range of situations. The work we undertake and facilitate at Relational Change includes a variety of approaches, some of which are shown in the table below. For further information, please contact us.
